While working with the awareness of the
development of domestic and national
technologies, we aim at making STM a global
player in the defense industry by seeing the
importance of opening up to international
markets. Our strategy for the next five years is to
be among the top 50 of the World’s 100 Largest
defence companies compiled by Defence News, in
which STM ranked as 97th in 2018, by expanding
our export volume.
What are your thoughts on new position of the
Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), which
were linked to the Turkish Presidency last year?
The Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB)
is key decision maker on the policies related
to the establishment of the defense industry
infrastructure in our country and in the
development of the modern defense industry
through Defence Industry Executive Committee.
STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret
A.Ş. were established in 1991 by the decree of
the Defence Industry Executive Committee.
Since the day we were established, we have been
working in line with the guidance and support of
the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB).
The ecosystem in defence industry has been
rapidly growing under the auspices of Turkish
Presidency and support of The Presidency of
Defence Industries (SSB), to provide security
by producing national and local technologies to
reduce foreign dependency. We are proud to have
served this important mission in everything we
have accomplished. We will continue to work with
the same determination to increase competency
of the industry and strengthen our country.
