What should to be done by Turkey to become a “Global Power”? What is your approach for a
sustainable defense industry?
Thanks to national investment moves that are performed in recent years, Turkey has taken major
steps towards the development of the national defense industry in the last decade. Turkey’s goal of
being one of the best in the world for all areas of defense industry; it’s not enough to being a self-
sufficient country but also requires a global position to provide high-technology and engineering
services. As STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş., we are carrying out the domestic
defence industry to the international platforms with the awareness of representing Turkey in line
with the guidance and support from Turkish Presidency and Presidency of Defence Industries. Today,
Turkey’s defence industry has reached a certain maturity. So, we need to strengthen our knowledge
and skills to work on developing critical technologies for “Global Power” mission of our country. We
believe that, the current and future projects and also investments will make a significant contribution
to the international relations and economy of country. In this direction, we need to continue with a
structure that is mainly based on engineering and design. The projects and investments are important
for the future of our country and it’s significant in global scale as well. With these high value-added
investments, it is important that we need to create a sustainable industrial ecosystem where science,
R&D, design, engineering and production services work together as a single chain.
