The R&D Projects Road Map is prepared as product focused in line with system needs in coordination
                  with the relevant Project Department and in terms of dual use, export restrictions, criticality level,
                  feasibility,  THS etc. are prioritized by  the R&D Department and kept up-to-date as a reference
                  document.

                  THE RESEARCHER TRAINING PROGRAM FOR DEFENCE INDUSTRY (SAYP)
                  The Researcher Training Program for Defense Industry (SAYP) was initially carried into effect through
                  the cooperation protocols signed between METU, SSM, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN and TAI in October 2011
                  with the implementation of the program launched in 2012. As of the first half of 2017, 24 universities
                  and 35 defense industry companies are included within the coverage of SAYP.

                  PURPOSE
                  1.  Transfer information between  the defence industry companies and universities in a more
                      systematic manner with guidance from the SSM in line with the priorities of the defence industry
                      sector and the SSM.
                  2.  Structure graduate  thesis at universities in a way  that will be directed  to  the R&D needs of
                      companies and orient them to the priority areas of the defense industry.
                  3.  Train students who undertake postgraduate education as qualified R&D personnel in the field of
                      defense with the opportunities provided by defense industry companies.

                  APPLICATION PRINCIPLES
                  1.  Students receiving post-graduate training under the coverage of SAYP will work on the projects
                      approved by cooperating defense industry companies.
                  2.  Researchers  will continue  their education in universities  while  working on  the project in  the
                      relevant industrial establishments in the fields and on the conditions stated by the protocols.
                  3.  Researchers spend part of their time in the university where they are educated and the rest in the
                      relevant industrial organizations.
                  4.  Researchers’ graduate theses will be in the fields designated by the SSM and identified jointly by
                      university faculty staff and by the officials of the relevant industrial organizations and approved
                      and managed by the SSM.
